Formatting of Table and Extended Markdown
It would be great if we could benefit from Extended Markdown, and in particular the ability to create and format tables. I have tried to work with tables or to import tables generated by LLMs and I am unable to get them formatted. I might be missing something, or the feature is not included, and it would be really great to have.
Smolpad is absolutely great, and this would make a real difference to me, and maybe others.

Version 1.3.7 is on the App Store now, with tables. A pipe table reads as a grid as you write, Tab moves between cells, Return adds a row, the Table button on the formatting bar starts one, and a table pasted from a chat lines up on arrival. With Hide Markdown syntax on it draws as a real table, in one of four looks from Settings > Editor > Customize Editor > Table style. The rest of that extended syntax page came along too: footnotes, definition lists, heading IDs, highlights, subscript and superscript, and emoji shortcodes. Thank you for asking for it.

Thank you, and you were not missing anything: Smolpad had no table support until now.
It is in the tree for 1.3.7. A pipe table reads as a grid in the editor, with the header bold and the divider row dimmed, and bold, links and code inside the cells still work. Tab moves to the next cell, Return adds a row, and a table pasted from a chat or another editor lands with its columns lined up. There is also a Table button on the formatting bar that starts a two-column table for you.
I will update this post when 1.3.7 ships.
