Corrective tools integration

To correct my text as I type, I use LanguageTool, which checks spelling and grammar regardless of the language. It’s built into Mail, web browsers, and even TextEdit. Unfortunately, it’s not in SmolPad, but I figure that if TextEdit supports it, there must be a way to make it work with SmolPad, right?
